Tips to Avoid Alcoholics Anonymous

Wow. Time really flies when you have four kids, three jobs, two dogs, two cats.... haha. I can't believe school is almost out for the year. My little Aubrey will no longer be a kindergartner. It's been such a crazy school year.... I barely have time to shower these days. Talia is in soccer, swimming, ballroom and she will be in children's choir in the production of Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat in June at the Colonial. She's a trooper. The only drawback is that I am always walking around with "Go, go, go, Joseph" stuck in my head thanks to her.
The girls also have their end of the year dance recital at the Colonial May 16. If you wanna go, go get your tickets now-$5 at the Colonial. I'm guessing it will be sold out.... mainly because I am dancing in it too! HAHAHAHA! Yep, this old lady is gonna parade her out-of-shape, 4-kids-later-bod for the world to see... on stage. What am I thinking?!?!?!?! I keep falling on my tush in rehearsal and I've got some very attractive fanny bruises to prove it. I just hope that I can stay upright for the actual performance. In truth, I just want to prove to myself that I can do it and would prefer if you would all just avert your eyes during the dance. In fact, I will pay you NOT to watch. Just show up watch my kids be adorable, and then if you hear the song "Rehab" I hope you come down with a debilitating case of temporary blindness on my behalf. Otherwise, you may have to pick up some sort of drinking problem to eradicate those particular Kaisja-falling-on-her-sequined-butt brain cells from your head, and you might wind up in rehab yourself, which would be pretty horrible, good grief...what would your neighbors say? plus it's a crappy economy and you'd have trouble keeping a job if you were always calling in drunk to work, so just lay off the booze already you lush!! I told you to AVERT YOUR EYES!! Now I have to attend A.A. meetings with you, which are soooo lame, and all you had to do was suffer a minor attack of blindness at the right moment. Sheesh. Some friend you are. Stupid A.A. They make you chant, as a group! Don't they do that at Wal-Mart? And, no I'm not going to pick your sorry drunken self up at the First Street Saloon anymore. Do you think I want to get Ebola?

So, I've had entirely too much coffee this morning.
In other news, Ryker is the cutest kid ever. Don't get me wrong--he's exceptionally naughty, and doesn't mind anyone, under any conditions, but this morning, he was packing around his favorite stegosaurus, saying it was a baby dinosaur, and then doing this really clever little roar-baby-cry. He also just had his first swimming lesson of the year on Tuesday and he tried to jump into the deep end. The kid really has no fear, at all. I spend a LOT of time trying to keep him from either waging some sort of toddler war on the entire universe, or keep him from offing himself in an apparent fit of 'enthusiasm for life' that just may end in his demise. Please pray for him. I'm hoping it is a phase.

Man, I'm running late for work!

P.S. June 16: The dance recital went well! I can't believe Lori pulls that off without a hitch every year. She is amazing. I've been backstage during dozens of performances, so I have to say I was very impressed by Lori. She not only kept her composure during any little mishap, but backstage downstairs she was just bee-bopping to the music. No wonder everyone loves her.

Here's a few dance pics from this year.

Aubrey at the mall performance...

Emi at the mall...

All of us right before our recital at the Colonial with Lots of Makeup!!!Ryker watching in the audience. I think this was taken after most of the crowd cleared out.

I kinda look like a member of the hooker mob....yep, those are spandex! This is the only socially acceptable time for a person to don both stretch pants and sequins in the same outfit. I am happy to say that I didn't fall on my butt. It was so fun to dance again, and I'm proud of the fact that I did it! But, yes I was hyperventilating before I went on.

Thank you to my friends and family who came to watch us!

Tiff and Stacy, I love ya! Family- thank you for sitting through yet another loooong dance recital, and for standing in line for ages with your kids to watch the looong recital. The girls were amazing in their performances, weren't they? I was watching in the wings and I couldn't have been more proud. Talia looked elegant during the waltz, Aubrey was absolutely stunning during her ballet, and Emi was all heart, especially during the Elvis "Stuck on You" tap dance.

I love my tiny dancers!
