Halloween 2008

All Hallow's Eve 2008
Halloween was so fun for our family this year. Truthfully, I am exhaused! After the carnival and the spook alley last weekend, this week Aubrey and Emi had parties in dance class at Dance Tech, which they loved. The studio had black lights and strobe lights, and of course MJ's "Thiller" to party to. They played games, danced, ate cupcakes and had a riot. We love Dance Tech!
(Quick side note- Tuesday, and Wednesday were parent/teacher conferences. Talia and Aubrey are doing very well in school so far!)
On Thursday, I did the Halloween party for Aubrey's kindergarten class-- it was very educational for me. I'm sure Ms. Bell was amused watching me crawl around on the floor around the pumpkin with all the kids while we played "ghostcatcher." That teacher certainly has her hands full! Kindergarteners are like a different species. A small, smart-alicky, bouncy species, with questionable taste in music. "Sammy the seal," anyone? I swear all of them had A.D.D. Hey, maybe that's why I felt right at home!
For the next class party, I'm definately taking those kids extra sugar, and games that will hype them up for when they get home to their unsuspecting parents. If parents had any clue what those teachers had to deal with, they'd shudder. I did. It was the scariest part of Halloween for me, at least. Can you imagine being trapped in a 20x20 ft. room, day in and day out, with no TV, and a bunch of 5-6 year olds, and no treats to bribe them with???? Oh, the HORROR!

Finally, it's Halloween! Here we come!

Trick-or-Treats with grandpa

Wednesday, Talia went to Boo at the Zoo with her dad, and went to a bonfire block party on Halloween, while over at Dave's house. Her costume was a huge hit!

On Halloween night, all of the Clark kids and their families (except Kent's family, since they live in Rexburg) took our children trick-or-treating together around the neighborhood. It was a perfect night, until the blasted rain kicked in. We could've gotten at least another couple of pounds of much needed candy. How are we going to survive on just 20 pounds, I wonder? We even went around the cul-de-sac with Brandi and Caleb. But, unfortunateley, we didn't get any pictures of them. Caleb was sure cute in his red Power Ranger costume.
This year, my mom was back in good form for the holiday. She managed to scare the bejesus out of most of southeastern Idaho. No one was safe, she targeted men, women, and innocent little children. My children hid under the table after she stuck her face in my kitchen window, effectively destroying my calm, crafty Halloween afternoon. Go Duppy! Don't laugh. If you aren't suspecting, and this face:
pops out at you, you'd probably jump a bit, and possibly hide under your table, too. But, after doling out some candy, the kids forgave her for their mini-heart attacks.

The skeleton goes in for the kiss...
and, even though Aubrey dodged, she still got kissed. At least she made it away with just a black nose.

After the trick-or-treating, we stopped by Rona's (Robb's friend and employee at Friday's) concert so Robb could get a taste of the music. Doesn't she have the cutest costume?

After that, we headed home. I tried to get Robb to stop at the cemetary so we could take some late night Halloween photos in the graveyard, but he's kind of a stickler for not breaking the law. *Sigh* All of the fun I could've had....
Then, we went home to try to placate ourselves, what with the severe candy shortage, and all. Check out these poor children, who clearly don't have nearly enough goodies to last them. ;)

I feel really bad for them, don't you? Happy Halloween! xoxoxoxoxo! Caio!
